Why support Anna Hazare?

August 13, 2011 by Keyur Seta 33 Comments

Social reformer Anna Hazare is receiving massive support for his fast-unto-death agitation on August 16, 2011 for the amendment of the Jan Lokpal Bill. But there are still a large number of people who are unsure whether they should include themselves in Anna’s protest. The following points will hopefully make their doubts clear.

–          The module of the Jan Lokpal Bill proposed by Anna will be a powerful tool against corruption. It will have the potential to punish any government employee found guilty of corruption of any kind. The government has its own version of Lokpal Bill. However, that bill is a toothless tiger. It is government’s conspiracy to bring out their version of the bill so that they can continue to indulge in corruption. So, in order to slap this conspiracy, protest is required and for that it is necessary to support Anna.

–          Anna is 74 years old. If the Lokpal Bill is passed, he isn’t going to be benefitted much since he won’t be here for long. This means, he is bearing all the pain for us, the youth of India and for that, he is also ready to give his life protesting for us! If someone, who is not related to us, is doing such a huge sacrifice for us, can’t we just show our support for him in whatever manner possible? We can at least do this!

–          There is no guarantee that corruption will be wiped out and India will start prospering if the bill is passed. But at least there is some hope. Hope keeps life moving and if someone is showing us that hope, I feel, we should jump at the opportunity. When we reach the closing stage of our lives, we will have the satisfaction that we at least tried doing something. It’s a much better feeling at that stage of life rather than regretting that we didn’t even try!

I hope these reasons more than justify our support for the Great Gandhian. So let us do our bit in support of Anna Hazare’s protest on August 16, 2011.

Small ways of showing your support towards Anna –

– Give a missed call on 02261550789. Your call will get disconnected after the first ring and most importantly, it’s totally free!

 – You can also switch off your lights on August 15 from 8pm to 9pm (Batti Bandh Movement) in order to show your protest against the government .

– Wear black clothes on August 16 to show your protest against the government. Most of us will be busy in offices but we can surely do this.

Right on. This man is truly amazing and his efforts should succeed, but we have a brazen govt. devoid of any scruples or morals and that makes one doubt the outcome. They have already started ‘probing’ his credentials. Typical paranoid behaviour but this time they are barking up a wrong tree. That man is squeaky clean!

Getting onto streets after a world cup win doesn’t showcase the real patriotic in any person. We can say patriotism is still the flavour of millions of Indian hearts when people get onto streets to support Anna Hazare. It feels good to see a new side of Indian democracy and population. People can still stand up for themselves and their future and it is good to know our masses arent apathetic. Thanks to a man like Anna Hazare.

Jai Ho Jai Ho Hazare: Anna Hazare is a messiah who brings good news for India. First your great nation produced Mahatma Ghandi. Many of you may not have seen him or did not know what he did to free India from the clutches of colonialism and give India its independence Now Anna Hazare comes along. I say you support this second Mahatma Ghandi. He will help common people to make their demands come true, and he will help get rid of the pervasive graft practice in Indian society and in government. Help Hazare see to it that the Jan Lokpal bill become law. It will be a very powerful legislative weapon for the common people of India. We outsiders are watching Anna Hazare and his anti graft supporters to push this through. This social media has made it possible for noble citizens from other nations to emulate Anna Hazare and do the same thing to bring their corrupt government to their knees..Congratulations to you all – the noble citizens of India. You have once again shown your greatness to the world.

Let’s throw Mr. PM Singh out of power and show him his real place. A leader with a good moral character is good for nothing if he fails to control his corrupt subbordinates. He knows but still he doesn’t accept that he is a part of corrupt organization. Anna ji’s move to campaign against Congress is a great tactical move to raise pressure over the ruling party to get JLB. I am not pro-BJP however, I am anti-congress now and the way it has murdered democracy in the past 8 months with attacks on Ramdev and Anna ji, I pledge not to vote for Congress ever. Congress needs to be taught a lesson to kill it’s hypocrites like PC, Sibal, Manish Tewary and above all Diggy Chacha.

Congressmen can be seen chanting for Rahul Gandhi. I ask what has he achieved in his personal life leave apart his political career. Where was he when Ramdev was beaten up? Where was he when Annaji was not allowed to sit and fast in our so called independent nation on the sacred day of our independence? Where was Mr. Rahul when whole nation decided to switch off lights on a festive day of independence? Where was he when Manish Tiwary accused annaji of frivolous corruption charges? Where was he when the whole nation was asking for support to anna campaign and he delivered a useless, his self proclaimed game-changer in Parliament for making a constitutional Bullshit Lokpal?

Let’s throw this congress out of power in every election in state assemblies and then eventually in Lok Sabha to teach them a lesson and thus to every other party too that they are not above the people of this country. I am sure with the kind of divide opening up in congress in the recent times is going to grow further once they start loosing elections and then their minds will be set right.

    Jai Anna ji.
