Clones of British Strike Again!
The Congress Government has once again shown they are no less than the British who ruled us, or even worse. A peaceful social reformer like Anna Hazare wants to hold a non-violent protest by observing a hunger strike for the amendment of the the Jan Lokpal Bill proposed by him. But our inhuman government is going all undemocratic by putting obstacles in his path.
Earlier, they imposed several senseless restrictions on him. But now, they have crossed all lines of dishonesty. Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari is openly accusing Hazare himself of being corrupt! This is coming from a government that breeds on corruption! A clear case of a naked man criticizing someone’s clothing or ulta chor kotwal ko daante. Need I say more?
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and home Minister P Chidambaram have also said that Hazare’s fast-unto-death or anshan is unjustified. Okay, so will you pass the Bill if we just request you? If this is unjustified, how justified is keeping India’s hundreds of crores in the Swiss Bank? How justified is to keep a terrorist like Ajmal Kasab, who ruthlessly killed hundreds of innocents, as the country’s special guest?
On one hand they are disrupting Hazare’s peaceful protest and on the other hand, they give a blind eye when opposition political parties indulge in all kinds of hooliganism and violence in broad daylight. Does the government have any justification to this?
Now, we have all the more reasons to support Hazare in his protest.
Small ways of showing your support towards Anna -
- Give a missed call on 02261550789. Your call will get disconnected after the first ring and most importantly, it’s totally free!
- You can also switch off your lights on August 15 from 8pm to 9pm (Batti Bandh Movement) in order to show your protest against the government .
- Wear black clothes on August 16 to show your protest against the government. Most of us will be busy in offices but we can surely do this.
Why support Anna Hazare?
Social reformer Anna Hazare is receiving massive support for his fast-unto-death agitation on August 16, 2011 for the amendment of the Jan Lokpal Bill. But there are still a large number of people who are unsure whether they should include themselves in Anna’s protest. The following points will hopefully make their doubts clear.
- The module of the Jan Lokpal Bill proposed by Anna will be a powerful tool against corruption. It will have the potential to punish any government employee found guilty of corruption of any kind. The government has its own version of Lokpal Bill. However, that bill is a toothless tiger. It is government’s conspiracy to bring out their version of the bill so that they can continue to indulge in corruption. So, in order to slap this conspiracy, protest is required and for that it is necessary to support Anna.
- Anna is 74 years old. If the Lokpal Bill is passed, he isn’t going to be benefitted much since he won’t be here for long. This means, he is bearing all the pain for us, the youth of India and for that, he is also ready to give his life protesting for us! If someone, who is not related to us, is doing such a huge sacrifice for us, can’t we just show our support for him in whatever manner possible? We can at least do this!
- There is no guarantee that corruption will be wiped out and India will start prospering if the bill is passed. But at least there is some hope. Hope keeps life moving and if someone is showing us that hope, I feel, we should jump at the opportunity. When we reach the closing stage of our lives, we will have the satisfaction that we at least tried doing something. It’s a much better feeling at that stage of life rather than regretting that we didn’t even try!
I hope these reasons more than justify our support for the Great Gandhian. So let us do our bit in support of Anna Hazare’s protest on August 16, 2011.

Govt Goes Undemocratic… Once Again!
In a clear case of suppressing a noble intention against corruption, the Government has disallowed social activist Anna Hazare to hold an indefinite fast at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar for the Jan Lokpal issue on August 16, 2011. Not-so-long-ago, they inhumanly ended Baba Ramdev’s fast on the issue of Indian money stashed in the Swiss Bank.
On the other hand, a political party has called for a Mumbai Bandh on Monday August 1, 2011. As expected, our government has not taken any steps whatsoever against it.
But no matter how much cruelty the Congress shows, support for Hazare across India will surely continue to increase. And it is vital that more and more people come out to support Hazare since the version of Lokpal Bill which the congress has drafted is purely unacceptable.
To exclude the office of the Prime Minister and conduct of MPs in Parliament is just making a joke of the Lokpal Bill. According to social activist Arvind Kejriwal, the bill proposed by government does not even address scams like Adarsh, Commonwealth Games and 2G!
The only weapon left for the common man is protest. Hazare is going all out with his agitation at some other place if not Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. So, let us all join Hazare on August 16 in whatever possible way and show the government that we won’t take things lying down!
